We are looking for hospo superstars for the 2024/2025 summer season.

Our Cellar Door is positioned amongst the vines of our home block in Rapaura and we are located along an important stretch of road that boasts some of the region’s best producers, making our winery a ‘must-do’ for tourists visiting the region. Popular for delivering world-class wine amongst a very relaxed, inviting setting our Cellar Door enjoys a busy bustling visitor turnover during the Summer months.

Cellar Door Host

Do you have excellent customer service? Do you enjoy a fast paced environment? Come and join us for the summer season.

You will need to be confident in your ability to welcome guests, making them feel at home and share the ethos of balance that we share here at Huia. Storytelling is important and while good wine knowledge is a bonus it is something we can share with you.

We are looking for someone who ideally has some of the following:

  • A positive attitude and welcoming manner

  • Is highly motivated and a self-starter but is a great team-player looking to nurture good company culture.

  • Has a hunger to see Huia continue to be a stand-out winery to visit and can share our wines confidently through their vision

  • Can demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and take initiative

  • Ideally has some experience in hospitality and/or retail

  • Preferrable an existing knowledge of wine

  • Must have their own transport

This is a seasonal fixed term role (20+ hrs per week) and a great wage (hourly rate negotiated on experience) starting mid-October until April. Kitchen Hand

Our busy cellar door has a number of food offerings available to guests over the summer season. Your role will include food preparation, assisting cellar door hosts where applicable and general kitchen duties.

We are looking for someone who ideally has some of the following:

  • Capacity to work as part of a team

  • Good personal hygiene

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Ability to follow directions and safety requirements

  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively

  • High aptitude for following workplace guidelines, procedures and policies

  • Must have their own transport

This is a seasonal fixed term role (10+ hrs per week) and a great wage (hourly rate negotiated on experience) starting December until beginning of March.
